Here are longer versions of the quotes Gavin is referring to, along with some others.

Summary: Upon the basis of how circumcision was administered, historically, the reformed practiced that the distant offspring of a believer were entitled to baptism, even if their immediate parents…
An often-forgotten fact: John Calvin, John Knox, Samuel Rutherford, and most early Reformed Christians affirmed intergenerational baptism, on the basis of continuity with circumcision. Yet this practice has largely fallen away today.

Reformed paedobaptists invented a difficult riddle that confuses a lot of people. To the extent that I can help people untie that knot and better understand Scripture, I do not tire of it. It also helps me refine the rhetoric to better communicate complex ideas. (I can't reply).
@brandon_adams @SolaDogmatika Do you never tire of this?.

If you don't want to dialogue (he turned off replies), then why the provocative post in the first place?.
@brandon_adams I appreciate you laying out your view. I’d just note that Reformed covenant theology has historically understood Genesis 17:7 as containing spiritual promises ultimately fulfilled in Christ (Gal. 3:8, 14, 29), not only temporal ones.

I disagree with this view and I suspect it is related to disagreements over OT salvation and the covenant of grace.
@Rural_KS_Pastor @TexasPreacher WCF 14.1 states that saving faith is ordinarily wrought by the ministry of the Word. Unordained evangelism should largely be restricted to inviting people to church so they can sit under the ministry of the word as delivered by an elder in Christ’s church.

@KendallLankford @dougmchone 1 Cor 7:14 does not refer to the covenant inclusion of the sanctified child any more than it refers to the covenant inclusion of the sanctified unbelieving spouse. It's referring the legitimacy of the marriage and children. Note Chrysostom

@richbarcellos For "sinners" referring to idolatry, see Galatians 2:15. For "unholy" referring to taking the Lord's name in vain, see Matt 6:9; Luke 11:2 ("hallowed" = regarded as holy). For "profane" referring to the Sabbath see Matt. 12:5.

@richbarcellos For "ungodly" referring to those who have other gods before God, see Acts 13:43, 50; 16:14; 17:4, 17; 18:4 . σεβομαι "to revere, to worship" ("devout" ESV "God-fearing" NET) . contra 1 Tim 1:9 ασεβεσ "destitute of reverential awe towards God".

I had reason to revisit @richbarcellos' helpful 2004 essay on 1 Tim 1:8-11 today, which argues that Paul lists 9 of the 10 commandments in order.

2. He appeals to "the continuity of the covenant promise" and cites Presbyterians, but to the best of my knowledge Anglicans don't affirm that and don't agree with Presbyterians on the Old vs New. (Anglicans, feel free to chime in here).
