Epic northern lights display from Seapoint about 10pm last night. Amazing to see the aurora so clearly in Dublin. Camera obviously enhances the colours but could be seen with naked eye.

Day 6 of my Namibia trip, and a day spent at one of the most iconic of places in Namibia, Deadvlei. The dead camel thorn trees are estimated to be around 900 years old. This photo was taken early morning before the sun had hit the dunes or white clay pan floor.

Fancy a bath here? Abandoned diamond mining town of Kolmanskop in Namibia. The desert has gradually reclaimed many of the buildings.

Haven’t posted here for a while. But here’s a quiver tree at sunset from a recent fantastic trip to Namibia.

On a beautiful calm evening at Roundstone Bog in Connemara a few weeks ago. I was fascinated by these pieces of bog oak (?) in a small lake by the side of the road.

Doo Lough, County Mayo. In 1849 during the Great Hunger, 600 starving people set out from Louisburg to Delhi Lodge to ask their landlord, The Marquess of Sligo for food. The weather was bleak and freezing and the people were refused rations resulting in 400 of them dying.
