the mavericks are a good team now. I dunno what else to say. they probably can't get to higher than 7th or 8th in the standings, but they're definitely making the play-in, and from there who knows.

the thing about crazy scoring performances in the NBA is that it's almost impossible to "ethically" do it. you can go back to every 70+ point game and see the worst defense imaginable, laughable possessions. so you just sorta have to live with it. that's the way it is.

when I was younger and dumber I used to get mad about vets playing and taking up space on those bad mavs teams pre-luka but I've learned the locker room is a delicate ecosystem and there is value to having adults in the room while you're rebuilding.
