I found an even bigger Blushing Rosette today and it was really going for it, so many guttation droplets!! Such a weird and wonderful fungus! 🥰 #FungiFriday

Not seen this before, think it’s Green Brittlegill, Russula aeruginia, found beneath Silver Birch. Caps of the mature specimens were very green, younger ones were paler. Stipe chalk white & tapering at base, gills white & crowded. Such a pretty mushroom 💚 #FungiFriday

Here’s a strange one for #MushroomMonday, the Blushing Rosette, Abortiporus biennis. It has 2 growth forms, it can form an attractive rosette but more commonly exists as an amorphous mass which exudes red-brown liquid. Just look at those guttation droplets!!! 😍

One of the very best days, #orchid-hunting with my good mate and fellow @Mariposa_Nature leader @thenewgalaxy in Madeira. We found over 20 flowering plants of European über-rarity, Goodyera macrophylla. A day of amazing plants, great company, good laughs, and muddy boots!

Not seen this one before, reminded me of a Pluteus species. Only one that seems to fit looking in my book is Pluteus chrysophlebius, Yellow Deer Mushroom. Vivid and emerging from a very decomposed log in mature deciduous woodland. #FungiFriday

How flooofy is this Webcap! I’ve not managed to see a Cortinarius species at this stage before where the web-like universal veil is stretched from the bulbous base to the edge of the cap. Perfectly illustrates why they are named Webcaps!! #FungiFriday

This Shaggy Inkcap, Coprinus comatus, is just beginning to deliquesce (dissolve away into a black inky liquid) I love the drip at the bottom 🖤 #MushroomMonday

Nice to see more #fungi appearing for #mushroommonday. 🔁 from top left, lots of Persistent Waxcaps, Pestle Puffball, Redlead Roundhead, a white Poisonpie with fascinating weeping gills and lastly centre, a beautiful blush Brittlegill - possibly The Flirt? 🤔☺️
