goes without saying but this doesnt mean i think it's always a waste of time to apply for a corpo or that i think less of ppl who watch them!! i got into vtubing via hololive like so many of us, i just dont like the idea that being corpo is the only way u can succeed.

I actually hate weighing in on discourse but i can’t stand seeing so many indies saying their dreams were crushed. Find a dream that’s about YOU and not a shitty company.

and most of all can we finally please stop idolizing corporations as if they are gods that bless the earth they touch? they are here to make money, they aren’t the all-seeing-god-council of recognizing talent. you are worthy enough ON YOUR OWN.

just like any other creative practice, stream for YOU. then stream for your audience. there’s no such thing as being “worthy” to join a corporation when it’s all random chance and numbers.

i understand why many shoot for corpos/management—it provides security and managers and a “place” in the streaming world. but if you truly care about streaming that can’t matter to you.

seeing a lot of posts from ppl saying the vshojo news crushed their dreams and desire to stream. joining was already a 1 in a million chance. what was your motivation going to be when you got a rejection letter?.

maybe a “hot take,” but i strongly believe that as a streamer, joining a corporation should never be your end goal or primary motivation to stream. stream because you like it. stream because you care.
