When Christopher Eccleston was announced as the new Doctor I was over the moon. I can remember watching ‘Rose’ on 26th March 2005 not knowing what to expect after watching the programme since the early 1970s. I hoped he’d be good, he was amazing. I can’t believe it’s 15 years ago
Happy 88th Birthday to the legendary actor Tom Baker, the Doctor many of us grew up watching. Thanks to him for bringing us so many great adventures in time and space.
Raising a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to Douglas Adams on his birthday. I loved the BBC TV series ‘Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’ It was very much a part of my childhood.
I used to watch ‘Paperplay’ presented by Susan Stranks and loved Itsy and Bitsy. When I was young, I always thought that this was the name of the programme.
Remembering the great Maggie Stables who passed away on 26th September 2014. Always so good at bringing
@bigfinish
’s Evelyn Smythe to life, she had such a wonderful acting style.
The Tomorrow People was a great 1970’s TV series. It was about a group of children and young adults born with powers. They strive to protect earth from earth bound and alien menaces, whilst keeping their own existence a secret.
Raising a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster to Douglas Adams who passed away 11th May 2001. I loved the BBC TV series ‘Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’ It was very much a part of my childhood. He also wrote Shada and City of Death 😀
I always loved Patrick Troughton as the Doctor. He was magical and embraced everything about the programme. I feel that he made Doctor Who what it is today. He gave something of himself and that has evolved across other incarnations. I love his characterisation and sense of fun.
I saw Jon Pertwee in The Ultimate Adventure at The Manchester Opera House and I think it was the most exciting thing I ever saw. To experience seeing him play the Doctor live on stage, left me in complete awe. I will never forget it.
22/05/89 - 27/05/89 Manchester Opera House.
5th January 1981 - The first episode of the BBC TV series ‘ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy was broadcast.
I loved the Vogons destroying Earth for an intergalactic highway construction project -a hyperspace express route. They’re also the worst poets in the Universe.
I thought Brian Cant was great. In the 1960s he appeared in two Doctor Who stories, in 1965 as Kert Gantry in The Daleks' Master Plan and in 1968 as Tensa in The Dominators. I also adored ‘Playaway’.
Brian you were my hero when I was little, and you still are now.
The Seeds of Doom is one of my favourite Fourth Doctor Stories for so many reasons. It’s beautiful, clever and in parts it’s incredibly uncomfortable and disturbing. I feel it drew so much from The Quatermass Experiment. It’s a great story showing the Krynoid growing in strength
Remembering David Warner (29 July 1941 – 24 July 2022)
I really admired David Warner as an actor. Whether he is played the romantic lead, or a completely sinister villain, he always did it brilliantly. He created characters that felt real.
Thinking of you today
@TheLisaBowerman
I just think that this is one of the most amazing photos from the filming of ‘Metropolis’ in 1927. Brigitte Helm’s face looks so modern, and this could easily have been a still from something that was filmed yesterday. The photograph and film, leaves me in awe.
I have been watching Doctor Who for around 45 years of my nearly 47 year old life. I don’t think I will ever tire of it. It’s a programme that gives us hope and brings us together. I will always enjoy adventuring and travelling on through the universe with the Doctor.

I think sometimes it’s best not to post about Doctor Who. I keep getting tweets saying Doctor who is dead and similar. It is all a bit strange and they don’t even follow me. All I posted was that I was looking forward to new adventures.
I really think that ‘The Sea Devils’ is such a great story.
The Master (Roger Delgado) makes contact with the Sea Devils, and plots to use them to reconquer the Earth from humanity. There are even Clangers 😀
Love this photo
@ManningOfficial
I was just watching Richard Ayoade presenting the BAFTAS and he just welcomed the new Doctor as Ncuti Gatwa. The cameras panned over to focus on him and he beamed so much. What a great moment and he was so surprised.
I have liked Doctor Who since I was little. I never got into huge arguments about it, I just enjoy it. Through this great programme, I've made so many lovely friends. It’s a television show that brings hope, it brings people together, and I love that time travelling blue box.
Remembering the BBC Radiophonic Workshop electronic music pioneer, Delia Derbyshire on her Birthday. Thanks to her for all her brilliant work, and for her electronic arrangement of the theme music to Doctor Who.
It’s 39 years ago today since the 1st issue of Doctor Who Magazine. I can remember buying issue 1 in 1979 and being really excited at the thought of reading it. I was nearly 8 years old.
Happy Birthday
@DWMtweets
🎉
I still get excitement in anticipation of a new series of Doctor Who. No negativity please if you were going to post a negative comment. I always look forward to a series, no matter who plays the Doctor. I like all of the incarnations of the character for different reasons 😀
I travelled in the TARDIS and made my own adventures when I was little. In my imagination, I created wonderful stories that played as if they were full TV episodes. Maybe that adventure is still continuing and I don’t believe I will ever grow up, but who really wants to anyway 😀
I have loved Doctor Who from a very young age. I am posting this photo again, as I am still over the moon that ‘The Official Doctor Who Figurine Collection’ used it in issue 59 of their magazine. Thanks again
