Charles has since been on the road to recovery, a journey that will not end until he receives a liver transplant. Hence, we are searching for a living donor who meets the following criteria:.

The shock of our reality hit hard, and the days and weeks that followed were a blur. Thanks to the help of our doctors, family and friends, Charles made it home 3 weeks later and was finally able to meet our new baby girl, Piper, at 10 days old.

Set to begin outpatient treatment in October, he suddenly collapsed at home and was rushed to the ER. At 38 weeks pregnant, I got the call that his liver failure had resulted in a serious bacterial infection and intestinal obstruction rendering him unable to eat, drink or walk.

Over the summer, Charles started developing what we thought were panic attacks. He sought help, though it soon became clear that physically he was not well. A doctor diagnosed him with advanced liver disease in September.

He’s passionate about his career in media & advertising, though undoubtedly his biggest passion is being a dad to his girls – our two daughters Addie & Piper and dog Lucy.

A native New Yorker, he introduced me to the city we’d fall in love in, start a family in, and root for his beloved New York sports teams in (for better or for worse).
