As a School Counselor, nothing is better than sharing your student’s excitement when they get accepted to their top college. Today I had an Ivy League acceptance and a student accepted into a great Pharmacy program. I’m so proud ♥️

When deciding which colleges you want to apply to, aim to have at least 6 schools on your list, including three reach, two match, and one safety. Seniors who strengthen their college list will earn a chance at a $500 scholarship! https://t.co/maHV4tAyjt #OpportunityScholarships

Started as a requirement for one of my graduate classes and now use it to stay connected and up to date on current events involving education and school counseling. I want to use this account more to build connections and provide potential resources and information.

i don’t know who needs to hear this, but it’s not enough to buy the books. you have to read those books and then reflect and make intentional shifts in your pedagogy.

To my white educators: Today, you’re posting about social justice, buying antiracist books, following brown folks, and temp changing your profile pictures. (thread) Here’s what I need you to do tomorrow:

In the wake of George Floyd’s death, it is critical to make space for students to process this deeply painful moment. Our Teaching Idea begins with an important call for teachers to self-reflect before facilitating student conversations... 1/2

Educators. This is a teachable moment. Don’t be afraid to teach about the meaning of justice and the murder of George Floyd by the police. Our students are watching.

One thing you can do today to support racial justice: Follow the news with an equity lens. Do this is by creating a Twitter list populated with IBPOC and others who regularly post on equity issues. Steps and recommendations in the next few tweets. #onethingforracialjustice
