Yesterday, Bitdesigners Africa hosted the First edition of Bitcoin for Designers in Kaduna🇳🇬 @the_buidl . The goal wasn’t to explain Bitcoin technically... it was to understand it together, as designers. What went down. 👇 1/8🧵

Bitcoin is money. Money is Bitcoin. Today I attended a meetup organized by @bitdesigners at @the_buidl Kaduna. Meetups like this make it clear that Designers have a seat at the table in open-source and Bitcoin’s future. Grateful for spaces where designers learn, contribute,

The Q&A that followed wasn’t about price or hype. It was about usability, education, onboarding, and where design truly matters in Bitcoin. The only goal was to give designers a new mental model for money...and their role in shaping it 6/8 🧵

Slowly, patterns started to emerge. Predictability. Clear rules. No single point of control. Systems that don’t change overnight. Nothing here was technical. But the room was describing the core ideas behind Bitcoin, in their own words. 5/8 🧵

We asked designers to speak from experience: What feels broken about money? What creates trust? What good design should protect users from? People shared frustrations, opinions, doubts. Some agreed. Some disagreed. We mostly listened and facilitated. 4/8 🧵

The main session was intentionally open-ended. No slides explaining Bitcoin. No “right answers.” Just guided questions and honest conversation 3/8 🧵

We started by talking about Bitcoin in the context of the history of money. How money evolved, where current systems fall short, and why Bitcoin exists in the first place. 2/8 🧵
