If you’ve ever donated to Brink, you should scrutinise how we’re spending your funds. We’re working hard to maintain the Bitcoin codebase, and expanding our security and maintenance efforts. We’re raising to fund more fuzzing engineers and infra; now’s a great time to donate.
Brink’s 2024 Annual Financial Report Brink recently completed our 2024 accounting audit and IRS Form 990 filing. Using that information, we have compiled Brink’s 2024 annual organizational and financial report.

Metro Cat Rescue needs your help to save sick cats. Every day, we face heartbreaking decisions because we lack the funds to provide immediate medical care. Many cats with chronic illnesses rely on us, but the costs are overwhelming. Your support can make a difference.

Even with Brink’s “move slow and fix things” mentality, we have initiatives we are excited about into the future including a recently completed third party security audit, a bug bounty program, and further expanded testing capabilities.

When we founded Brink in 2020, “move fast and break things” for-profit crypto companies were rampant and a “move slow and fix things” Bitcoin non-profit was a low time preference outlier. We are proud to share our continued progress toward this mission. https://t.co/0ei8ESBOGL

Thank you to @bitcoinbrink for funding the first ever external security audit of Bitcoin Core. Not surprisingly, no serious issues were uncovered in the audit by @quarkslab, and many places for security testing improvement were identified:

Brink has been engaging more devs, to do more things. Security & maintenance work carries on.
As part of Brink's mission to ensure the safety and robustness of the open-source Bitcoin Core software, we recently sponsored an independent security audit of the Bitcoin Core codebase. This represents the first public, third-party audit of Bitcoin Core. https://t.co/bJQxsDVM48

Brink just wrapped up a third-party security audit of Bitcoin Core. To our knowledge, this is the first of its kind public security audit. "The results confirm what long-time contributors and users already know: Bitcoin Core is a mature, conservatively engineered, and

Instead of forcing customers onto selected platforms and custodial rails, businesses should simply accept crypto directly—let customers pay from any wallet address they control. That’s the real revolution in e-commerce: • No middlemen • No forced exchanges • No platform

Funding independent reviews like this is just one way we help ensure Bitcoin doesn’t break and continues to serve the world as a secure, reliable monetary network. Independent review only strengthens that confidence.

Why Brink funded this work The project has a strong security track record, but it has never undergone an external security assessment. We wanted to provide an additional layer of assurance for developers, node operators, holders, and businesses who rely on Bitcoin Core every day
