the hate has rotten your hearts so much that it drives you people to harass & hate first & assert your own moral superiority (when 99% of the time it is afforded due to privilege) than actually try to connect with another queer person with compassion & empathy

fact of the matter is i don’t take 99% of people on queertwt talking on this topic srsly bc i vividly remember when a saudi lesbian was harassed some years ago for saying “i hate that i will have to eventually marry a man”. a lot of you simply have a lot of hate in your hearts.

i don’t think we get to pass moral judgements on a queer person’s individual choice unless we are actually doing something to make the queer community more inclusive & supportive, because i know many of you are not & in fact, engage in exclusivity tactics instead

to find a supportive queer community for some queer groups than others. this is a significant risk and some people are simply in a better position to take that risk than others, profoundly due to the socioeconomic factors mentioned above.

especially in the current sociopolitical climate? consider also that in many cases, the closeted person’s first connection to a queer community might be via their openly queer partner—they may lose the queer friends they’ve made upon break up. also consider that it is easier +

if a queer person cuts off their family to be a their partner, what happens if they break up? consider this scenario in the context of intersections of gender, ethnicity/race, disability, economic conditions etc. do you think a social support system is easy to find,

having said that, a lot of people thinking that you can simply leave your family/parents bc they’re homophobes are simply refusing to consider the complexity of people’s circumstances

i think it is obvious that queer people who are closeted should avoid being with queer people who are not bc of the likelihood of these circumstances & it is not fair to people in op’s position & can actually be quite traumatic

anyway, i think this is a very nuanced conversation & i’m glad most of the recent tweets from sapphics are acknowledging the complexity here

everything becomes an excuse to hate on bisexual women, it’s impressive really

using this to say “this is why i’m exclusively les4les” as if lesbians haven’t been in the closet or even returned to the closet due to various reasons

they are also the people who got mad when the nigerian bisexual girl said she doesn’t date women even though she wants to because she knows her family will never accept them & she doesn’t want to hurt the woman

using this to blame exclusively bisexual women is so wild because the same people who say bisexual women don’t date women at all are now saying they do date women only to leave them … you can’t have your cake and eat it too 🤡

biphobia/ poison ivy is canonically bisexual and she always has been. she is bisexual in the dc canon. no author has ever confirmed her as lesbian, while four different authors confirmed she is bisexual (including the author of this comic)

@hcttogo the reason butch is believed to be a lesbian-exclusive term is because "lesbian" was used as an umbrella term for all sapphic women in the 20th century!! this person specifically is openly queer in a QUEER relationship with a QUEER person. how the hell are they not butch???
