whoo, that was a heater! a ton of 8-cube games yesterday to hit a quick Infinite last night. TECH FOR THE META - tons of Sandman+Ultron, so we need a 6 drop that can compete, plus Killmonger for the zoo. uh, Alioth is really good, y'all.. ✈️ pilot's guide in thread ✈️

Forgot to post this earlier in the week. Hit infinite on Sunday with @birds_snap’s tech deck. Stalled briefly in the mid 90s, per usual, but went from 83 to infinite in less than 24 hours, playing sporadically. Great stuff. #MarvelSnap

TBD, but nothing too worrying. the Thena "nerf" is nice actually, since you're not likely to hit 10+ until turn 6. Nocturne is already a love/hate relationship, and i don't need much reason as it is to replace her
@birds_snap Any accessment on if ota really affects you deck? Ive only played some proving grounds. I feel like that is not a good determination of the decks capabilities

how to use Quake: - win on 6⃣. steal Mojoworld, swap Bar With No Name under them, etc - earn value. they play Ant Man turn 1⃣, you swap Isle Of Silence under him on 2⃣. Quake's now worth 2/7! (maybe) - be annoying sometimes Quake's just 3 power. that's fine!
@mister_bump73 @birds_snap I feel stupid but how do you use Quake properly every time I try a shenaningan I blow it!

ay
Pretty easy run this month. Tribunal was OP the first few days, when everyone was playing new cards and zero tech. That's now started to change and I tried @birds_snap Big Bonk for the last few ranks and it was top notch - Quake can be clutch!

@birds_snap @WombatCombat0 Firmly believe Invis Woman is the best pure control card given that she doesn't care about priority. Supergiant over Quake is ok if you would rather have the targeted card tech vs a more broad location tech. I think the issue in Birds' deck is more often Gwen is a better play.

the original alioth was truly unhinged, but this version is still pretty good. worth getting if you like energy-cheating decks
@birds_snap Love the explanation, would try this deck but man i dont have Alioth!

almost never. the main reason is I want Angela and Hope in the same lane with two open spaces, so I can max out Angela while taking 8 energy into turn 6️⃣. plus it's too easy to get both of them Shang'd
@birds_snap Do you stack Angela and Thena? In a deck like this I play them in separate lanes, but I’ve lost games to opponents who stack

alright! that's what i have for now. now, to figure out how to fit Kate into this list.. if you like this kind of detailed pilot's guide, consider giving me a follow! i don't post often, but when i do, it's all bangers

this type of point-by-point power and energy maximization is necessary to win at Snap at the highest levels. but usually there's no single correct answer - it depends on your opponent, the locations, and your win condition. remember, you only have to win by one point!

then, Kitty+Gwenpool on 5️⃣ means that +6 will split across only 2-3 cards, and you're much more likely to play them all for an explosive, unpredictable turn 6️⃣ finish. you haven't lived until you've won with a 2/9 Jeff. plus, two cards on 5️⃣ might mean another +3 for Thena..

most people play Gwenpool here, but that's risky - your +6 power will get spread across 4 different cards. personally, I'll usually try and play something else on turn 4 - Chant, Jeff+Quake, etc, to thin my hand a bit.

ok, last one. it's turn 4️⃣. you've got Kitty, Jeff, Quake, Gwenpool, and Chant in hand. what do you play?

if you play Kitty+Jeff this turn, and Kitty+Hope on 4️⃣, you'll boost Thena twice, and get 1 bonus power from Hope. if you play Hope this turn, you'll miss a Thena ping, but get 2 bonus energy from Hope on 4️⃣. would you rather have +3 on Thena, or 1 extra energy? it depends!

ok. it's turn 3️⃣, and you've got Hope, Kitty, and Jeff in hand. Thena's on the board. what do you play this turn?

sure, maybe you gamble, and hope you draw a 2-drop next turn? but i'd rather burn one energy now, and lock in 9+ extra power on Thena over my next three turns. Kitty is the #1 snap signal for this deck - your only 1-drop, and how you cheat out big value with Thena and Hope.
