This is our latest initiative we are launching at work. Please share widely with anyone in California working with immigrant communities, breast cancer, social determinants of health, and/or related areas!
Why does immigrating from a country of low breast cancer incidence to the U.S. increase a women’s risk of breast cancer? CBCRP has launched an initiative to answer this question. Applications are due 3/24/21. Learn more at

As we continue to process the events of earlier this month, many people are probably wondering what they can and should be doing to support the democratic process. Here are some great tips from @ESAL_us. https://t.co/IiC1yDGtne

Today the Biden Administration announced its science team and that for the first time in history it is elevating the Presidential Science Advisor to the Cabinet level. Exciting news!

Congratulations, @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris! This is a great day for decency, hope, democracy, and for America. The road ahead won’t be easy, and it will take a huge amount of work to heal the nation and fix our broken government. Time to roll up our sleeves and get to work!
America, I’m honored that you have chosen me to lead our great country. The work ahead of us will be hard, but I promise you this: I will be a President for all Americans — whether you voted for me or not. I will keep the faith that you have placed in me.

Folks, this is the face of the Trump administration's ongoing campaign to censor COVID-19 science https://t.co/9P4m1oIczt - a man who can't dispute the facts so calls his critics liars, and uses "scientist" as an insult. 🤦‍♂️ Thank you @AliNouriPhD for calling out this corruption!

The latest about Trump's lies about COVID-19 are particularly troubling https://t.co/3nvsjN18Bv, as are the admin's efforts to censor the CDC https://t.co/9P4m1oIczt. These actions have real consequences, including thousands of lives lost and millions disrupted. Get out and vote!

This story in @nytimes, beginning with its headline, fails spectacularly to explain what is happening right now to universities all across this country. The conflicts over plans for the fall are warning signs of an epic crisis for higher ed. https://t.co/pTHedtI5wW

Most universities plan to bring students back to campus. But many of their teachers are concerned about joining them.

This spring we awarded 85 emergency grants to fund high-urgency research on COVID-19. I'm optimistic that the research we funded will make a tangible difference in California and beyond as we continue to deal with this difficult pandemic.

We are excited to announce that applications are open from now until funds are expended for $25,000 proposals for research to address COVID-19. CBCRP and the UC RGPO statewide funding programs are together making $2M available for COVID-19 research.

There's so much else going on in the world right now, but this was a really exciting project and was honored to be a part of it!
