Vote for the women in your life. For the children in your life. Vote for joy.For compassion .For kindness. For empathy. Vote for your predecessors who came here before.Who fought the fascists.Who marched and lay down and sat down and stood up. Vote for kindness. For joy.For kindness.

I feel like I need to subscribe to the Washington Post just so I can cancel the Washington Post. And maybe do the same with some gift subscription. Democracy dying not with a bang but a billionair’s whimper.

review: if you think Marvel’s tales of Thor hanging w/ an Iron Man, a green Hulk & a witch are weird, the Norse say, “Hold my mead!” w/ 8-legged horses, a world-encircling serpent, 1 chariot pulled by resurrected goats & another by cats. @GeorgetheMighty

review: More effective is Arienne’s fight for freedom: from her life being controlled due to her magical talent, from serving the Empire even in death. All of these feel much more real, much more visceral, and much more compelling. @torbooks @FanLit

review: themes are thoughtfully handled (& sadly relevant), delving into imperialism, propaganda, surveillance, class, gender, & identity. Sargassa has its flaws, but characters & storyline are strong enough that I’ll pick up book two.@dawbooks @FanLit

review: I just was all too rarely startled by language, surprised by plotting, or moved by characters . hard therefore to recommend save for completists . but these are the stories that struck me as standouts. @fanl

review: "As exciting as much of the action is, as thoughtful and moving as the themes are, and as enjoyable the ride is with our two main characters, my favorite element is the mythos that lies at its core". @TitanBooks @FanLit

review: An ambitious work with a thought-provoking premise, and if it didn’t fully carry through on that ambition, credit to Berry for the reach. Given the level of writing here, I look forward to what comes next. Recommended. @torbooks @FanLit

Where are the republicans denouncing these hateful, racist attacks that will get people killed? The alleged Christians? The alleged family values folk? Is this the best you have? The flag you want to march under? A banner of hate? Where is the Joseph Welch amongst you?.

review: If the fast-paced action will be to the liking of many a young reader, it’s also a barrier. The pace, combined with the episodic one-island-after-another structure, means we don’t linger in any scene or emotion for very long. @FanLit

review: "sharp in its criticism of society . even as it is tender toward its characters, thoughtful & moving even as it is spartan in its dialogue & language . lingers in the mind for some time after . the last page". @ErewhonBooks @FanLit

Review: “Thematically, this is a story that deals a lot with trauma. It’s also, at this point, more a survival story than a resistance story, or maybe a better way of putting it is it’s a story where survival is the resistance”. @JamesSACorey @FanLit
