My question is does the periodic table reference for the logo still work in Japanese? Or does it just look like a random design?

The Doctor as a professor, Kamelion disguised as his teaching assistant, with Jamie & Leela attending classes and having a budding romance. All this wrapped up in an exile type season where different aliens keep coming to the campus to try and break into the vault to kill Missy.

Imagining the four of them at St. Luke's University together would be a hell of a time.

I don't care for this, but what I never understood was people getting upset that this 'made' Kate straight. Like it doesn't confirm her sexuality, but also Kate has literally had a male ex & KIDS since her debut (both in the 90s & the show proper) so this didn't change anything.

This is why I will be waiting for the inevitable 'Ncuti Gatwa Collection' that will be out in a few years. I already basically have all the other Doctors collected that way and with these prices plus what I've heard about the actual quality of them... It's worth the wait.

And this is me genuinely asking fans that want this. Maybe I just appreciate the show for different reasons than these other fans. I just don't know what they are looking for out of the show then.

I just don't understand this opinion at all. Doctor Who's strongest aspect is its history & legacy. What would a hard reboot even look like? Would you want the Doctor & Susan in the junkyard again? If not just use a regeneration to soft reboot. What is gained with a clean slate?

Matt Smith is the kind of guy that isn't going to touch the franchise until he's in his like 50s or 60s and then that's going to be basically all he does.

And to the point that the 'research isn't worth it', I think that's highly dependent on the individual. Research on franchises like these are my favorite part of them and is worth it to appreciate the product more. It organically helps to make the world feel more lived in & alive

I honestly don't think we should be catering to those people tho. It obviously hasn't gone well. Both Series 11 and Series 14 were attempts to open the show up more to a 'general audience' and it produced the worst reactions possible. Doctor Who benefits from utilizing its lore.

I've always seen him inviting Joan on board as a form of empathy rather than a form of connection. He feels bad that her husband had to die in order for him to live so he hopes the wonders of the universe can make up for it. Tho for her it would never fill the void of losing John

Idk I always kinda saw that as the point? Like John Smith is an aspect of the Doctor, but also a product of his society. He was a different man from the Doctor and his values reflect that. That's why the Doctor lets everything surrounding John Smith go when he 'dies' & moves on.

I will never understand why we couldn't have just gotten the original ending. I get it would have been a form of cliffhanger that may not have been resolved due to Ncuti leaving, but I still think the idea would have been better than this obvious fan wank last minute decision.

Ok I wasn't sure on his casting when I first read it, but his Capaldi is pretty spot on. I can't wait to hear the story now. I hope it does well so we can get further releases with 12.

A slasher icons Suicide Squad esc. movie would be the coolest thing possible. I want a Slasher Cinematic Universe!

I love the Ewan McGregor just wants to be in all these cool Star Wars projects. Pay this man's bills Disney! Put him in everything! Obi-Wan is being wasted just sitting in that desert.

Any of the Doctors being ace or changing sexualities between incarnations. The Doctor has a more nuanced perspective on sexuality & gender and I think saying they change sexualities between incarnations makes it seem like it's attached to their genetics, which seems weird to me.

People always bring up the logo thing, but am I the only one that thinks it pretty much dropped the ball after the 2nd one? Like the rest of them are pretty much just the same logo, but with different shading/clouds over them. There is VERY little change in color or texture.

I just want to see her and Rory in an episode as a cameo. Have some future Doctor have an adventure in 1940s/50s America and have Amy, Rory & Anthony be on like family vacation or something. Have her and the Doctor be passing ships in the night.

Crazy how with retcons this scene is talking about how Obi-Wan and her were going on an interplanetary adventure where she was getting hunted down by Inquisitors. I wonder if Leia ever expanded on the story for Luke.
