Our @SIGIRConf 2024 paper "Graded Relevance Scoring of Written Essays with Dense Retrieval" is now available on arXiv. We propose a novel model for multi-level relevance, using Contriever dense encoder, applied to the problem of Automated Essay Scoring.

Can LLMs auto-grade proficiency of written essays?. We try to answer in our recent paper accepted at #lreccoling'24 by @watheq_mansour, Salam Albatarni, Sohaila Eltanbouly, @tamer_elsayed. Our answer (based on our study) is NO (or at least, not yet!).
