And I think they can do this for a long time! I really don't think there's any reason to think it will come back to bite them. People who pay attention and care about government policy already vote against them anyway.

The weird thing about America right now is we have a party who is very good at winning elections but really has no coherent idea of what they want the government to do so they just kind of go along with party inertia and lie/demagogue their way out of hard questions.

They like the filibuster because it protects them from having to take hard votes. You see this all the time in the house when they majority party forces votes on divisive bills that go nowhere so the minority party has to vote on them.

Gonna go out on a limb and predict republicans will not overrule the parliamentarian. Senators like the filibuster, that's why it has stuck around so long, and they won't want to get rid of it. I hate the filibuster personally even though it did something good here.
The parliamentarian's changes to the Medicaid title put Republicans in an impossible position: try to move a reconciliation bill that may not be able to pass, or ignore the parliamentarian, end the filibuster, & make it much easier for Democrats to pass their agenda when in power.

Saw someone online refer to Hoobastank as a "one hit wonder." This term is getting thrown around way too loosely these days. I don't even know which song is supposed to be the "one hit." Is it The Reason or Crawling in the Dark? "One hit wonder" used to mean something.

By all accounts the JCPOA was basically working and Trump decided he wanted to take a solved problem and put it back on his plate. Really the opposite of how I approach my job, tbh. I wonder if he regrets it.

It's kind of wild that Trump decided to make a nuclear Iran his problem by withdrawing from the JCPOA. Obviously no one can predict the future but the consequences of that could be something he's dealing with for the rest of his presidency and beyond it for all of us.

You see this sometimes with other things that are an obvious disaster like the war on drugs. They're nominally against mass incarceration but believe deeply in all the tenets that led directly to it.

By far the biggest miss in this game is the traitors should be trying to sabotage the challenges! This gives the faithful the chance to catch them and gives them something other than vibes on which to vote. They copied Among Us without understanding how the game works.
