The campus security alert system for the female students of the university, launched about a month ago, has demonstrated a 100% response rate, responding to all 108 alerts. The Security Alert was triggered for various emergencies including medical ones. #BHU #SafeCampus

The Security Alert, an integration of a new feature into the Namaste BHU App, has been designed to provide immediate assistance to students in potentially unsafe situations or emergency, including medical situations. The alert was activated 108 times during the five-week period.

BHU was prominently represented by Dr. Jagadeesan T. and Dr. Umesh Kumar, who served as co-conveners. They were joined by 6 PhD research scholars from different departments of the Faculty of Arts, reflecting BHU’s strong interdisciplinary presence.

The workshop (6–10 October at PDEU) brought together distinguished scholars, translators, and emerging researchers from across India to explore the new frontiers of translation in Indian literatures. This edition follows the success of the first chapter, held at BHU earlier.

Prof. Devy emphasized that language forms a crucial link between human existence and memory, and the loss of language could mean the loss of humanity itself. He urged the audience to understand the deep connection between language, consciousness, and existence.

He highlighted the contrast between Indian and Western philosophical traditions, noting how Indian philosophy explores consciousness through the concept of Chitta, while Western thinkers like Descartes and Sartre approached it through existentialism. #BanarasHinduUniversity
