This was a class that really pushed me outside my comfort zone. This class has helped me practice the online education format, get used to twitter, and develop an educators mindset. I really liked our unit on STEAM and makerspaces. #EDLT368SS20 @aymanalzaid

This last week we learned about STEM and STEAM. We were creative and did activities that were fun and helped us learn how to think outside the box. We also learned how to help our future students be creative and make things as well. #EDLT368SS20 #M5 @aymanalzaid

#EDLT368SS20 #M5 #makerspaces @aymanalzaid I also found that dropping the blinds over the paper but still partially open helps with the effect.

https://t.co/us6KNshTfs Is a great article on Twitter in education which explains how to be safe and smart online while using it as a resources for learning. It also is an attractive tool to students who are younger and enjoy social media. #EDLT368SS20 @aymanalzaid

This week we worked as a team which helped give me new ideas about education. My team was very cooperative and eager to work together which made learning easier. It was interesting to see the unique approaches of my team mates. #EDLT368SS20 #M4 @aymanalzaid

Growing up, I was taught about 1 type of scientist. In science, the people are much more #diverse than the examples we teach. I want to make it a goal to teach about the people who impacted my field but aren't well known because they don't fit the mold. #EDLT368SS20 @aymanalzaid

High school students are learning how to be adults. They are not children as some would treat them. They need to be treated as equals in order to earn their respect and attention. If you have both, you can teach them. #highschoolteacher #EDLT368SS20 @aymanalzaid

Everyone learns differently. Some students are great visual learners, others are more auditory, some need to physically do things for themselves to learn. Everyone has #uniquelearningstyles that need to be paid attention to for students to succeed. #EDLT368SS20 @aymanalzaid

I want my future students to enjoy learning and not dread coming into class. Science can be hard for some students and it's important to try and teach it in unique and interesting ways so students can learn better. #science #EDLT368SS20 @aymanalzaid

Students need to feel safe in the classrooms they learn in. They need the same opportunities and ability to grow and learn no matter who they are or where they are from. As teachers, it is our responsibility to work towards that goal. #socialjustice #EDLT368SS20 @aymanalzaid

#EDLT368SS20 For one of my current classes, we have been going over the many uses of social media, tech, and how to engage students using modern approaches. There are many ways to reach students and I've learned that using methods they already enjoy is a good way to start.
