Just sent the farewell email to my VMware friends and colleagues. It was effusive in its praise for the experience over the last 13 years at this company. Quite honestly the best 13 years of my life. It's going to take some time to process, but I'm excited for the future.

This is the first time I've logged into this Twitter account in 6 months, which I consider a great success. I have achieved almost none of the goals I set out below, which I also consider a great success. Instead I have been avidly wasting time and have never felt better.
I would like to learn to play the Hurdy Gurdy, brew better beer, speak clearer French, begin sailing, fix up my old cars, jam with passionate musicians, see more of Europe, get a moped, renovate our farmhouse and cook better curries. Yes, this is probably a midlife crisis

For those of you interested in the details, I have moved to northern France with my family. My goals are to build community, spend more time with my kids, work with my hands and seek creative satisfaction

I am about to take a year-long sabbatical. I have been trying to take one now for the last 2 years and world events have conspired to make it challenging. I am so grateful to @VMware for their support, empathy and flexibility in allowing me to stay connected

I just published a blog that goes into detail about the security posture of VMware's hardware-isolated pods and how what it looks like under the covers: https://t.co/ChALgZAPmF

Sad to read of the departure of @PGelsinger from VMW. He's been an inspiring and insightful leader and I've appreciated his focus on integrity. It'll be a tough act to follow.

My kids have decided we're going to watch "Singing in the Rain" tonight for our weekly Movie Night. I've never seen it. I suspect it's going to be a good end to a terrible week.

Finally some good news! My kids get their British passports and their instinctive reaction was a Churchill V. Shame they've been denied their rights to work and settle in Europe, but we'll fix that right up.

I love @Ledger's product, but customer comms is let's say, "pythonesque" (we apologize for the apology... those responsible for sacking the people responsible have been sacked etc) 10:10 email 1: Here's the scope of your personal data we leaked 6m ago 11:28 email 2: Oh, wait...

Govmomi - the GO bindings for vSphere and ESXi APIs is a true "unsung hero" project. The critical plumbing layer for so many @VMware products. Big thanks to @dougmaceachern for his work on these new features.

As the lead of the Sonobuoy project, I am super stoked about the work @wilsonehusin (mostly him) and I did to get this version out. We got some good things planned for the project in 2021. Check it out.
Learn how the Sonobuoy project will continue to evolve, starting with newly released version 0.20, in this post by @wilsonehusin and @VladimirVivien.

Something to think about: In-orbit space debris. Today the space around our planet is pristine. We can travel through it without worry at very high speeds. The moment we get debris from, I dunno SPACE FIGHTING it may quickly become too perilous to leave earth #PutNorwayInCharge
Today, after a yearlong process that produced hundreds of submissions and research involving space professionals and members of the general public, we can finally share with you the name by which we will be known: Guardians.

My latest video on vSphere with Tanzu just dropped and this one's a Doozy. It's taken me a month to put together. It covers just about every aspect of management, operation and validation of a Tanzu K8S cluster with interactive scripts
