Hello Twitter fam. I'm currently facing one of the toughest challenges in my life. Dealing with retinal detachment in both eyes and needing multiple emergency surgeries. So, if I'm a bit slow in replying, that's why. Remember, your health is paramount! 🍀

I don't feel offended by one developer who finds it literally more "joyful" to write plain JS. Isn't the idea behind creating an inclusive tech community about listening to each other and creating a safe place where opinions are respected? People bashing and ignoring seems harsh.

If a team cannot directly switch to "strict" mode, I suggest gradually enabling individual type checking features like "noImplicitAny" or "strictNullChecks." This allows for incremental adoption of a safer codebase when transitioning from legacy JavaScript to TypeScript. 📈
It's my birthday today! 🥳🎈 Since I can't share my cake with all of you, I decided to share a new tutorial on the exciting things you can do with
@typescript
and TypeChat: 🎉 Let me know what you would build with it!
I recently contributed to the TypeScript programming language. It was a small PR of mine but I firmly believe that even small steps make a difference. 👣
@MylesBorins
@nodejs
Another vote for
@nestframework
! I really like their documentation mix of presenting their framework but also teaching fundamental concepts like dependency injection and caching techniques. +1 for it being written in TypeScript and +1 for their website's 🍔 menu.
This is me right before declining an offer that didn't feel good for me. Always remember: You don't have to sell yourself short. When one door closes another door opens.
Thanks
@nikolasburk
for highlighting that
@prisma
returns typed results that only contain the properties which have been selected. Major difference to the behavior of
@typeormjs
.

I want a Doom 'Ouch Face' in VS Code that correlates with the amount of TypeScript errors in my currently opened file. 😄 Can you help me building such extension,
@orta
? 👀
I had fun talking about Type Guards at the TypeScript Berlin Meetup yesterday. Thanks
@prisma
and
@NWoroniec
for having me! 🤝 I just published my slides & code samples: 🦜
Using JS file extensions in TypeScript files???
It may look strange when importing local TypeScript code but it becomes necessary when building ES modules.
Let me explain 🧵
Just realized my true calling: Holiday Hacker! 🕵️♂️💻 Spent the public day in Germany creating a new
#TypeScript
tutorial. 🌟 Let's explore type widening & narrowing:
My first plugin for
@WebStormIDE
&
@intellijidea
got released! 🥳 For the fine society that likes to sort properties in
#JSON
... You can now do that with "Lines Sorter Plus":
Running fuels my creative fire, igniting fresh energy and unlocking the coding magic within. 🔥✨ What's your secret sauce to keep the creativity flowing??
Node.js 21 has been released! Exciting new updates: stable fetch and WebStreams, a built-in WebSocket client, and various test runner improvements. It will replace Node.js 20 which enters long-term support (LTS) later this month.
Added on-device caching to one of my favorite client's
@reactnative
/
@expo
app. I was using
@tan_stack
's react query. I just followed the doc in the thread to use react query with async storage to cache every request. It was super simple and the final result is amazing!🔥
With each day I like the game
@ShotgunFarmers
more and more! Today I discovered that there is a clone of "Capture the Flag" where you have to steal your opponent's pig and ride it into your team's farm. 😄

Lately, I've been involved into TypeScript & React Native for mobile app development. Android smartphones offer great value for the money! 👛 Moto G62 5G with 2400x1080 display, 120 Hz, and an 50 MP camera. All for just 119 EUR! 📱🌠 What's your favorite Android phone?
I have an active Apple TV subscription, but I've an issue where the "Play" button has disappeared when using Google Chrome. Anyone else experiencing the same problem?🤔
@mattpocockuk
I would ask about the frequency of "TypeError" instances in their error tracking system (such as Sentry, Rollbar, Raygun, etc.). Realizing that there is a JavaScript developer experiencing a TypeError every hour was a revelation to me:
