Our @DukeEnergy crews are seeing challenging conditions across the Carolinas. The roads are slick and dangerous. Our operations team is seeing a number of cars crashing into our power poles which is causing outages. Please, if you can, try and stay off the roads.

Hurricane #Milton has caused significant damage throughout our Florida service area, with damage to power equipment likely to be widespread. Expect an extended damage assessment period as our crews will have to navigate difficult terrain once conditions are safe to do so.

As of 5 p.m. Monday, fewer than 15,500 customers in Upstate South Carolina remain out of power. This is due to the thousands of skilled restoration workers from nearly 20 states and Canada that joined local @DukeEnergy teammates on the ground to recover from #Helene. (1/5)

@DE_BillNorton @WLOS_13 Approximately 370 substations were out of service from the storm in the Duke Energy Carolinas service area. For those that were damaged and can’t be repaired in a timely manner – mobile substations will be installed to allow us to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so.

Impressive work underway to get the power back on for Florida customers following #Helene. One of our very skilled pilot contractors and his ground crew are trimming trees that fell on a power line in Taylor County.

As #Helene approaches, 4,000 resources are located at the @DukeEnergy site at The Villages. This includes truck fueling & nearly 50 buses shuttling crews to hotels. Our teams worked overnight to ensure crews are ready to respond to outages as soon as weather conditions allow.
