@AEAInformation How do we best respond? New classes? New minors? New credentials (certificates)? Some guidance and broader data can only be helpful in figuring out how to develop new strategies and compete in the marketplace for ideas.

@AEAInformation I'm on an email chain with a half dozen econ chairs/heads. Vast majority have enrollments which have a dropped a ton. Key issues are changes in student composition (intl students like economics more), and competition from data science.

I recently took the role of Department Head at UO. The biggest issue is our general trend in majors and credit hours. Is the @AEAInformation putting out any resources to help the profession advance ourselves. The shortage of econ professor jobs is directly tied to enrollment.

Got an obvious scam message on linkedin that wanted my whatsapp number. I sent them the whatsapp number for the fraud division at the FBI. Any other ideas of #s to give to scammers to waste their time?.

Way more land swaps for sure. The checkerboard of BLM and private land is insane in Oregon whether you want conservation, recreation, or private land usage.
If you oppose the government selling federally owned land, do you instead think it should be aggressively buying more? or do you think the government currently owns the optimal amount and location of land?

The time cost of free range kids vs organized every hour of the day for your kid has to be daunting. My mom kicked us out of the house in the summer and would say don't come back until it's dinner time. We roamed on bikes and drank from random hoses in people's front yards.
Convinced the one and only way to increase the birth rate in the US is a federal cap on hours per week allowed for organized youth sports. That's the binding constraint.
