But overall: it’s terrific. Rotterdam has a lot of mediocre museums. But the new Fenix is really world class: a huge modernist space which feels like the kind of thing you’d find in New York or LA. Highly recommended if you’re into art or architecture

I would have liked to have seen more about the history of Rotterdam as the great outlet for European migration to the new world - this is hinted at but I thought they could have explained it much more. And the takeover of Katendrecht by hipsters has its own issues.

I finally made it to the new Fenix migration musuem in Rotterdam, which opened a couple of months ago. I thought it was excellent.

I like the way that in Gouda there is literally almost nowhere you can get a coffee at 8:45am, but you’ll have no problem buying stroopwafels at any time of day or night .#priorities
