You should try working on your self esteem. When I compliment someone and they reply “I know” I smile and nod in affirmation because it takes a lot to actually KNOW you look good. That's self love. That's self esteem. Stop seeing people's pride in themselves as an attack on you.
It's the first time I saw this female colleague in a native attire, I told her she looks good and her reply was "I know" I sharply told her I wasn't talking to her, I was on a video call😂, I could see the heartbreak in her eyes. You dey underrate Ìbàdàn man😂......
