You say I’m “ambivalent”. But that’s what happens when the nhs mental health system is negligent with eating disorders. I wouldn’t be alive if my gp last year hadn’t persuaded me to go to a&e. As my body had completely packed in. #dumpthescales #edrecovery #recoverytwt #nhs

Does anyone know anything about high calcium levels in eating disorders?

M&S girl dinner, oh wait every night is in this household 😝 14 year old Becca who chucked cheese 🧀 across the room during a meal support with her eating disorder therapist would be pissing herself laughing

If this holiday period feels hard around food, you’re not broken—you’re human. Be kind to yourself, take breaks when you need to, and remember: this season will pass. You’re doing your best, and that counts.

Does anyone else find medical monitoring for your ED triggering? I’ve had it for two and a half years and still find it triggering hearing bloods are normal/ fine after having awful bloods 17 months ago. Yet I’ve lost 11kg (16% bw) in eight weeks

Ugh last night I had my medical monitoring. I’ve also now added fuel to the fire of “questions” my gp is asking cmht today. As he doesn’t feel there is a “real” ed plan put in place. I also lost 2.8kg in three weeks to which I was told “that’s a big drop”. Cmht aren’t >

“but I’ve seen u eat” “but you look fine” eating disorders a MENTAL ILLNESSES that sometimes comes physical complications. not the other way. only 6% of ppl with ed’s are underweight btw. most people aren’t gonna look like a skeleton. sorry to break it to ya.

eating disorders are not weight disorders, they are mental illnesses. a severely underweight person with Anorexia Nervosa vs an obese person with Atypical Anorexia may still experience similar physical health complications. it’s a disorder, not a choice; though recovery is.

Might be a long shot… but has anyone done cognitive behaviour therapy enhanced (CBT-E). Which is the model for eating disorders. After a ten year battle I’ve finally been offered it

First proper meal in almost seven weeks. @KFC_UKI zinger rice box meal. 830 cals today and just trying to remind myself I’m still in a deficit and it’s not too much. But I’m riddled with guilt 😩

Had an email telling me that my psychiatrist has contacted ED services. I’ve got a meeting on Monday with CPN and Psychologist at CMHT to discuss a plan :/

So I’ve written a complaint email to the health board about my eating disorder treatment or lack of treatment should that be. CC’d my psychiatrist into it so happy Friday morning to him 🤪

CMHT are as much use as a chocolate teapot with eating disorders. Gp was telling me last night they’ve been too slow to make plans and he’s basically watching till something medically goes wrong and I’ll be taken back into medical hospital, like last year

Last night was super scary. I think I had a post exercise hypo because when I hit the cold air I was sweating, shaking, threw up and felt like I had no energy/ I was going to faint. Had to quickly get into a supermarket and had a mini bag of tangfastics. I just feel awful 😣

eating disorders: YOU 🫵 are valid. never got diagnosed? valid. never skipped a meal? valid. never fainted? valid. never been hospitalised? valid. not underweight? valid. atypical diagnosis? valid. nobody around knows about it? valid. YOU 🫵 are deserving of help.
