guys i’m sure you all have some great hot takes but i’m really just here to talk about jack hodgins and avoid fomo . please stop trying to argue with me
@NoahSkaroff
while i can see your point, as he has made jokes of this in the past, i also don’t think anyone is in the position to joke about it but him. he can 100% joke about it if he is comfortable doing so, but as fans and ultimately strangers, we shouldn’t cross that boundary.
.
@Toheeb_Jimoh
’s acting in this scene left me breathless and ugly-crying. it played on the rage and devastation of the audience perfectly and i’ll absolutely never get over it. someone get this man an emmy STAT
okay last tweet on this thread but pls leave me alone i obviously dont actually think that this is feminism it’s just a popular phrase DONT DEEP IT I BEG 😔🤞
no sorry the queer solidarity here is making my heart burst, knowing there’s one person in the room (or coach) who knows. understands. someone you share this bond with, one that runs so deep without words.
no listen it’s essential that it was isaac that made the homophobic comment precisely because he is colin’s best friend and colin is still closeted and it shows how deep homophobia runs in football culture that he doesn’t even think about the possibility of colin being gay and-
ted lasso fandom: wow rupert definitely abused rebecca horribly, he’s so controlling and manipulative and made her feel like she was dependent on him
ted lasso fandom: what?? no way, jane isn’t abusive at all, beard is just attracted to crazy people cause he’s so crazy!!
sheryl lee ralph interrupting her own speech to shout out john clarence stewart’s incredible acting, especially his stunning performance in p valley, is my new favourite thing
colin talking about “the ache” that comes along with being in the closet and trent, along with every queer ted lasso fan across the world, sighed and related painfully hard
he almost died and no one ever talks about it because beard after hours is brushed off as some wacky eccentric episode centred around beard being a fun little guy and people don’t take it seriously
jamie tartt saying “he took me to lose my virginity wi- to those ladies behind the windows.” almost saying “with,” but catching himself. this is not something he willingly partook in. this was taken from him, his childhood stripped away for the sake of his father.
“colin’s a chameleon. he can change depending on the situation.” ohhhh because he’s gay and he’s mastered the art of staying in the closet around the hugely homophobic football culture oh jason sudeikis you sick, wonderful man
“ted and i met playing college football. he was the backup punter, i was the backup kicker. we never got in a game, but we spent a lot of time together jogging, doing box jumps. after school we went our separate ways - he was dating michelle, got into coaching.”
i’m not being funny but that one singular clip of james tartt sr. in rehab is not a ‘redemption arc’ y’all have watered down the term so much please be serious
okay but can we also just. that “sambecca” scene did not come across as a romantic ship scene to me? it felt more like an acknowledgment that they have both moved past it, an acknowledgment that they’ve grown?
“dear keeley,
i want you to know something - you never did anything wrong. it was all me. i was stuck, stuck in my own shit, and i didn’t want to cause you any harm with it, so i pulled away. but you are, and always will be, keeley fucking jones.”
trent will NOT out colin, he will come out to colin and act as his gay mentor and introduce him to the community in a healthy manor and stick my his side through everything
#trust
- explore roy’s insecurity from s2
- roy plot around his knee, afraid to use a mobility aid etc GIVE HIM A CANE
- would have made beard’s drug use in sunflowers a bigger deal
- beardjane breakup / beardbecca intervention w/ parallels
- roykeeleyjamie obviously
this will all link up
#trust
trent crimm will be colin’s gay guidance counsellor and introduce him to the gay community in a healthy way and stand with him and write about him and homophobia in football and isaac will learn and grow because that is what this is all about
annoys me that people are like “this is clearly just jason sudeikis working through his divorce publicly!!;$?!?(!” like no . i think he is just A Guy who has Experienced Divorce who also is just writing a show with Another Divorced Guy
how dare they put the most hysterical royjamie bike scene directly before the most heart-splitting queer colin hughes trent crimm scene and act like i should be okay
i actually feel sick like they keep making jokes about beard’s clearly abusive relationship . jason sudeikis if this season doesn’t end with them breaking up and beard realising his worth i’ll actually hunt you down
the writing in this recent episode was so sloppy im sorry 😭 the whole locker room scene is written like a gcse drama performance, the roy comment ?? and jack ??? it had its moments but ultimately worst ep of the season so far imo
like the comment just wouldn’t carry enough weight if it came from anyone else, it needed to be isaac to get the point across. especially with the scene later in this episode where he checks up on colin. like he clearly cares about him so deeply
the number of people i see say they refuse to read a fanfic under 10k words… y’all are missing OUT, those oneshot writers will alter your brain chemistry and change the trajectory of your life in 1.5k words and leave you staring at the kudos list in utter shock
