I don't want the #Reds to trade Greene. I'd rather see them go back to putting a league average payroll on the field like they were pre-2021 and go buy bats. But if they do trade Greene, they need to call Arizona and talk Ketel Marte.
What a lot of #Reds fans don't know but I'll tell you... They listened on Greene last Winter Meetings, too. The only, and I mean only way they trade HG, is if there's a 5 WAR player headlining the return AND they get a top 50 prospect with it. The Red Sox DO make sense.

Michael Conforto ($17M) and Tanner Scott ($12.8M) aren’t even on the Dodgers NLCS roster. Scott picked up an injury but has been ineffective for much of this season. In other words, that’s 1/4 of the Brewers total payroll in 2 players LAD doesn’t need. That’s a problem!

So basically if you want a salary cap in MLB, root for the Dodgers. If you don't, root for the Brewers. In reality, a salary cap is inevitable. Whether that's in 2027 or in the future, it's inevitable. The players shouldn't fight it and instead should use it to bargain for
The NLCS begins tonight. And it could have a profound effect on whether baseball is played in 2027. Free at ESPN: Why Milwaukee vs. Los Angeles is a proxy for the game’s greater labor battle and how the result will be used as a cudgel in the fight ahead:

I don’t know what the Brewers did to get the level of luck they’ve gotten this season, but it’s impressive.

The portal and NIL have been a net positive for college football. Made an already great sport even better and more competitive. Now if they had just left the damn conferences alone…
Week 8 SP+ ratings, 2019 vs. 2025. The top 8 teams are a combined 23 points worse today, and No. 9-25 are a combined 29.4 points better. 🤌

The average QB play in the NFL has absolutely plummeted over the last 10 years. Have defenses gotten smarter? I mean we were coming off an era of Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees, Rivers, Roethlisberger, etc. What changed?

If the Brewers lose on Saturday, we are guaranteed another World Series champ carrying a top half payroll and more than likely a top-10 payroll. Gotta spend to win, folks. It ain’t rocket science.

Skubal could throw his changeup the rest of the way and I'm not sure Seattle could do anything with it.

This play is going to get brought up during every PFP session next spring. From high school to the pros.

I see they got the reaction they were looking for with this. You don't hate modern day sports media enough.
From @TheAthletic: Many people are having a bad year in college football, but Arch Manning is having one of the worst. The quarterback has gone from preseason Heisman Trophy favorite and projected No. 1 NFL Draft pick to a man synonymous with failure. https://t.co/faDb4krVzT

They’re going to run it back with mostly the same team, aren’t they? Ouch.

The visceral hate for Miami football is something else. Just read the comments under any video of Pate saying something positive about them. Pure anger. He could say he likes their uniforms and folks would lose their shit.

Miami is 5-0 with wins over Notre Dame, Florida, and Florida State and ranked in the top 3. What a time.

OK. I can't figure him out. I don't know what his thought process was there. Just kick the FG, man.
Mario is so scarred from not kneeling in that Georgia Tech game that he now just tries to sit on leads in the 4th quarter instead of looking to bury teams. Hopefully it doesn't come back to bite Miami at some point.
