For an agent to add value it needs to work in the background, reliably, with zero prompt engineering. Computer use models aren't good enough for that today. Wrapped by an application, prompted by a developer, they have much more potential.

High-level prompts with long trajectories show up *all the time* in demos and multimodal agent evals. They imagine a user typing into an empty textbox - like Adept's original "find me a house" demo (Aug 2022!). But it's hard to save time by watching your computer work.

Two risks we've taken with Nova Act: focusing on short trajectories, and launching an SDK as the first interface.

That's a small new feature in extension v0.2.1:. This version should also *actually work* on a bunch more platforms and Python versions.

This experience is less wacky fun than the earlier version—you weren't even shown the generated code. Feels more useful, though.

Playing with a new developer experience using Maccarone: delegate sections of code as "owned by" AI codegen. Let the LLM maintain the code it writes. There's a simple VS Code extension you can try:

Something I've been tinkering on: Maccarone, a wacky tool for programming in Python *mixed with* English:. Whenever I prompt ChatGPT to write code, it feels weird to keep the (low-level) code and throw away the (high-level) prompt. Why not the reverse?
