We believe therapy is massively important for the health and well being of survivors of religious abuse and making it equitable and easily accessible was a dream that feels almost crushed. 8/.

There is currently a waitlist of people needing care. Survivors from across the spectrum of the greater survivor community have received funds for care through SW. 7/.

That goal felt lofty, but every $ spent on the assessment, took away from direct scholarships to survivors in need of mental health services. For the cost of this assessment we would have been able to fund over 120 hours of emdr therapy for survivors. We are heartbroken. 6/.

When we began to understand the cost of the assessment we realized pretty quickly that this too was a form of survivor care. We needed to model what we would want any other org to do. 5/.

Here is what we accomplished in year one:. Provided 30+ hours of care. Provided just under 3k in scholarships. Raised 20k to care for survivors. 4/.

Our sole mission is to provide scholarship funds for therapy for survivors of religious abuse. That’s it. The board does not receive and has never received financial compensation for this work. Think of us like a grassroots benevolence fund for therapy. 3/.
