yup. he’s a great player who was willing to give a young star the spotlight and fill in the gaps. he guarded the best offensive player in the NBA for most of a 7 game series while picking up all the slack being down 20 in an elimination game. nothing but respect 🫡

kobe was never robbed of mvp lmao. other players had incredibly successful seasons and got the award they deserved. steve nash turned the suns org around into a top offense and 60+ win team. dirk had an insane 67 win season, then bron came into his prime.

kobe’s best scoring seasons had very little winning impact. pretty empty points when you miss the playoffs or are barely over .500 in your prime. it’s like wilt’s 50 ppg season. impressive? sure. did you win? not much.
