Friends of the Library are hosting a Christmas Book Sale at Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge on Thurs Nov 20 (9 am to 7 pm $2 admission), Thurs Nov 21 (9 am to 7 pm) & Sat Nov 22 (9 am to 4 pm). All book sales proceeds will be used to support library programs and services.

Friends and Families for Safe Streets will mark the World Day of Remembrance For Road Traffic Victims on Sun Nov 16, 4:30 pm at Queen's Park. There will be speakers affected by road violence & a memorial name reading ceremony, candle-lit march at 5 pm.

Macdonald Block Renovations started in Aug 2019 with a budget of $1.5B. Capacity will be expanded to 6,000 staff. Landscaping is almost complete, but interior work has an issue with elevator shafts/entrances. No completion date/revised budget available, but hope it's ready soon!
