We took it to local government workers in Kano & Kaduna earlier this year; we didn’t just end it in advocacy, we took it further by training the local workers on record keeping, farmer census & project management. For the documents, you can find it here:

@basilabia I've always loved to hear you speak Basil. But how and when should we begin to take thes conversations wALGON. I mean taking these discussions closer to the farmers. Can point me to the rest of the presentation and slides? Should you think we can take it with ALGON, I'm here.

Prior to 2008, there was a national frenzy of not only the middle-class but also low income families putting their hard-earned earnings into the NSE (now NGX) to buy Bank stocks. The 2008 recession saw that fall to dust. Families were completely destroyed; mine barely made it out.

I am sorry, but why should poor Nigerians bear the burden when our governing class are living larger than the state of our fiscal health and when they can’t deploy opportunity cost to save their greedy lives? . We should learn from East Asia RE public goods financing.

We wouldn’t spend $13 billion on the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway when we have a $2.4 billion debt that we have yet to pay GENCOs. The NNPCL spent $2.5 billion on TAMs on two refineries that don’t refine. 7,447 projects were inserted into the 2024 budget worth $1.44 billion.

@basilabia How would you tackle these problems if you had the hypothetical role of 'Energy Minister'?. We've been doing the same things for so long (blanket subsidies etc.) with nothing to show for it, that I think this neoliberal experiment isn't such a bad idea.

Aunty Olu is watching you people complain about the planned 5% green surcharge like she isn’t cooking a steep “market-reflective” electricity tariff hike up her sleeves for Band A and Band B people. You all will neoliberal it out together 👍🏾.

State subsidies, low (use single-digit) interest loans, tax breaks (especially via special economic zones), and the creation of national innovation centers is exactly how China and its CCP has carried out the execution of its year 2015 “Made in China 2025” industrial policy.

I just remembered when some Nigerian Libertarian bros called Nigeria a “planned economy” on this platform 🤣. Quite a number of you do not have any idea about what you’re talking about.

I finally read Made in China 2025 last night. 31 pages. I’ll share a few thoughts on what Nigeria and states in Nigeria can learn from the document RE industrial policy thinking once I wrap up my groomsman duties to my buddy, Charles, this weekend.
