Huge congratulations to Ben Challoner, @DrJussieDee, and @donuts85 who all passed the FRCpath part 2 exam today. They have all had very different journeys into and through pathology and had other hurdles, but we are so proud of all of you!!.

Admin roles are essential to run our services. Pathology administrators and secretaries do a tremendous job and we would be lost and unable to function without them. The knee jerk response of ‘less admin’ will make doctors and BMS staff have to divert their skills needlessly.

So sorry to say goodbye to our rock, the amazing gynae pathologist and ex -TPD, Asma Faruqi, who after holding the department together especially last year is now retiring. we will miss you so much! 😘😘💔

Delighted to appoint two of our long standing Trainees to locum posts today! Dr Divya Kriplani will be doing breast and Gynpath and Dr Harry Delaney will be doing GI Path. In the long tradition of our department appointing our own brightest and best.

And another! We are delighted to welcome Dr Duaa Saeed-Chesterman as a consultant, who will be specialising in Gynae Pathology.

Following yesterday’s appointment, this week we warmly welcomed Dr Jackie McDermott who is a very experienced gynae path consultant with a research and education background! We are so lucky to have her at @NHSBartsHealth ( and she is enjoying commuting by river from Putney!).
