My sense is it's going to work a lot better with a lot more of the project in place, which will hopefully function to put some guardrails around how far it goes. I'm just deleting and rearranging lots of stuff at the moment. :/.

GitHub Copilot Agent might be a wonderful tool but I just asked it to scaffold out a Python project. Gave it some basic details about the project and it's. gone *quite* off-piste. I think it would have been quicker to just copy and paste from my last Python project.

Well, at a time when the Roman Catholic Church has never more needed to establish credibility, appointment of an American Pope will do no end of good. It’s easy to see how the most recent conclave earned their positions of authority. Wow.

Seriously, @Mazda_Europe? 50% deposit on an MX-5? £14k? Do you know what I can buy on the used market that will not just beat, but absolutely trounce, a new MX-5? Get out the clouds and come down to earth will you? MX-5 is supposed to be an affordable roadster. £28k+? Fuck off.

@ToolstationUK . but I should still see an acknowledgement on the site itself so that I know the order has worked.

@ToolstationUK It means I don't know whether or not my order was successful until the confirmation email comes through several minutes later. In the meantime the order doesn't show up in the orders list on my account page. Not a surprise if you're processing async. .

@ToolstationUK So it looks like this problem is specific to Firefox @ToolstationUK. I can go through checkout successfully in Google Chrome. However, there's another problem in your order flow. After paying with Paypal I'm redirected straight back to the homepage with no order acknowledgement.

And now when I click Checkout it just hangs on a spinny forever. @ToolstationUK.

Your checkout process is broken @ToolstationUK. Every time I click Checkout it asks me to sign in. I sign in then it empties my basket. I re-add items and try to check out again, it asks me to log in again, rinse and repeat. Using Firefox on macOS.

I sense there may be a growing awareness deep in Trump's addled consciousness that Putin is just going to ignore him and carry on doing whatever he likes unless Trump approves a shitload of money and weapons for Ukraine to continue fighting back.

Congratulations on letting Putin know he can just wait you out, which is inevitably what he’ll do:

Trump's comments came hours after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio warned that the US could abandon talks.

So what happens if the world, rather than queuing up and begging for clemency, instead bands together and tells Trump go take a hike? Brinksmanship and bullying, after all, ought not to be pandered to.

I'm going to throw it out there that I just don't think one person should have the power to screw up the US, and indeed the global, economy to the extent that we're all witnessing at the moment. I don't just mean Trump: I mean any single person.

"US stock market drops sharply on open in wake of Trump tariffs." No! I hate the guy, but the drop happened after hours and, in fact, on open the market climbed sharply before pulling back. Do journalists not know how to read candle charts properly or something? @BBCNews for one.

. @ArturiaOfficial Overall this isn't very satisfactory, and it's not what I've come to expect from Arturia, given I own several of your products (both hardware and software). Please can you respond.

. @ArturiaOfficial This is better than yesterday, when adding the upgrade to my cart failed. I've emailed you twice about this now, with no response. Also, your website login is broken in Firefox because the captcha doesn't work properly: it only works in Chrome.

. @ArturiaOfficial What's with your checkout process? Been trying to upgrade to V Collection X using your offer for the past couple of days and it's just broken. You just charged me 99 euros on Apple Pay but then tried to charge 599 euros to my bank, which (thankfully) failed.

How does a person hop between CEO roles every 18 months to 2 years? Surely you have to figure they're not particularly effective - and might even be outright trouble - if their tenures are that short?.

So just in case you were wondering, no, ChatGPT still can't handle an 800 row CSV classification task it would seem. Neither can Claude. Got to break it down into smaller chunks, which is obviously doable if a bit annoying.

I love that there's a company called Mogrify in Cambridge and that they do *exactly* what you'd expect a company with that name to do:
