I can’t speak for everyone but my experience of ROTC was being under the sun for hours on Sunday mornings, doing rifle drills. To what end? I don’t know. It didn’t prepare me for war. It didn’t inculcate patriotism, already had that in me. Power-tripping though, saw a lot of it.
