I would prefer keeping places where you take your mask off closed for ~2 weeks post-school opening. I also recognize there is no good $ support for restaurant workers. The province is pitting us against each other. If you want schools open, advocate for affected workers, too.

If you want restaurants and bars open, advocate to make schools as safe as possible. And while we're at it, let's talk about air quality standards for all indoor spaces and government action to fund that.

@balkissoon @sofipapamarko Some of these repliesβ€”yikes. Everything is connected. We all share community spaces, whether they are schools or grocery stores. Advocating for safe community spaces + workplaces for everyone should not be controversial, yet people continue to argue. πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

@aliciamcauley @sofipapamarko The question is always: who does that arguing over scraps benefit? I have a few ideas

@balkissoon And advocate for affected businesses beyond a meaningless 'property tax rebate' when many of them RENT their space.

@balkissoon We have got to stop relying on or wait for this provincial government for anything. The head of the Gravy Train only wants the gravy and doesn't care if the their industry gets derailed. The hospitality industry is part of the solution in this pandemic!

@balkissoon Absolutely agree. When the numbers increase they’ll blame the schools. I think that’s the plan all along.
