I’m never on here anymore and when I do step in, it doesn’t feel good. It’s contributed to my choice of a prolonged break from social media. I want to see what I can do w the space/time it normally occupies. I wish you well. Please quietly wish me the same. Photo: Josh Hinkson

It’s #AlopeciaAreataAwarenessMonth! It’s rare for me to be in this space anymore, but September is always a good month to open my feed to questions. What do you want to know about #AlopeciaAreata?

This is EXACTLY what I keep trying to communicate. While it’s not right I’ve been cornered into #MAID by medical damage + lack of proper care or palliative options, the answer isn’t to attack MAID + force people to endure endless suffering (especially with inadequate pain mgmt!)
It is genuinely possible to support a wide application of MAID, a right won for Canadians by disability activists throughout the 20th century, while also wanting disabled people to have access to safe, reliable, affordable housing, ... https://t.co/C21wIMHFU3

It’s been three years since #IrishtheBoston took his last. In keeping with our tradition on this day, there are ten doggie cones waiting for some puppers to stop by @rockypointIC on 6th in #NewWest. Give your doggo a scratch for Irish. ❤️

Ensuring patient partnership at every stage of care is critical for safety, respect & to prevent traumatic experiences. Transitions of care are where partnerships & empowering patients to steer/define their care are most important. 10/10

Amplifying for the doctors in my feed. 👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
And as always - my main ask is I’m desperate for a compassionate GI doctor (and pain management/palliative) in #Vancouver who actually wants to try to help me. I don’t need doctor *recommendations*, my referrals get rejected. I need someone who WANTS to take me on. Thanks all. 💕

Patients know what they need. 👇
I need way more time, but I’m so unwell and suffering too much, and the system is so slow… the only way I can see being able to sort any of this out and recover is if someone would admit me, put me on supplemental TPN so I stop losing weight while I get the GI workup.

Today an Alberta lawyer argued that requiring lawyers to take an indigenous cultural course was the same as forcing indigenous children into residential schools and I’ve never heard a more powerful argument for requiring lawyers to take an indigenous cultural course. #ableg

As a mother of a neurodivergent child, as a mother, as a human being …
A 12 year old Indigenous boy with autism handcuffed and pinned down by Vancouver Transit Police. Imagine if his mom wasn’t there to record them, how far would they go? Canadian law enforcement treats our children like criminals. Se full video on his mom’s TikTok Mia Brown.

Tragic news! I haven’t missed a folk music fest since moving to Vancouver in the early 1990. Very sad to hear this. Crushed by post-pandemic bills, Vancouver Folk Music Festival won't return in 2023 | CBC News

Seeing L’Eggs trending just reminds me that when people say GenX hasn’t done anything, I point out that we ended the terroristic reign of pantyhose.

A moment of respect for the Pattullo bridge please, guys. The sketchiest, most pinner bridge we have is somehow the only one that can hold up in a winter storm. Ole Faithful. Who woulda thought.
