Evocation of shinju also doesn't always end in tragedy. For ex: in Yosaku from Tamba, a lover's suicide is attempted but stopped, and the characters get a (rare) happy ending.

Yes and no. I think it's subversive of the tragedy aspect; NS don't die and choose to continue living. However, they both lose their arms, which becomes proof of their bond and devotion to e/o, a result of their intense emotions, similar to the cutting of a finger.

I also don’t think that Obito’s love is shown negatively. His romantic feelings are unrequited, but Rin cares about him, and is the one to greet him at his death. To me, his obsession isn’t the problem; it’s that he deals with that love and following grief by harming others.
