The takeaway? Even the most genuine claims can be rejected for reasons unrelated to the treatment itself. So always have an advisor (preferably @joinditto :)) who can help you out in situations like these.

So we took it further—we prepared the case for the Ombudsman. After a detailed hearing—where we helped the client present every fact, timeline, and report—the Ombudsman ruled in the client’s favor. The claim was finally approved!.

At this point, many would’ve given up. But not our client. And not us. We escalated the matter with the insurer again, and helped the client locate the missing document. This reopened the case and triggered another investigation. Even then, there was hesitation.

This time, it was due to a reference in the medical file about a psychiatrist consultation. But our client had no record of such a visit. So—claim denied. Again. This time for “document deficiency.”.

We clarified all this, backed it up with medical documentation, and the insurer launched an investigation. But just when we thought it was all sorted out—Rejection #2 came in.

So where did it come from? Turns out, one of his recent blood tests had markers suggesting RA. But here’s the thing—it wasn’t in his medical history when he bought the policy. It surfaced much later.

Rejection #1: The insurer raised a query asking for documents related to Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). You see, what’s odd is that this condition had nothing to do with his treatment.

He had already undergone cancer surgery covered under his corporate health plan. The chemo sessions were part of his ongoing treatment. So naturally, he filed a claim. And then came the first roadblock.

A client of ours reached out, frustrated and exhausted. His reimbursement claim for chemotherapy had been rejected. Not once—but twice! . Here's how we helped him get his claim back. 🧵.

On the other hand, with term insurance, it’s a different story. For instance, if you purchase a 1 crore term plan, a portion would cover your home loan, but the rest would go to your family–just as it should. So here’s my advice to you: Don’t let anyone push you into a decision.

3. Only the lender can be the nominee. This means that in the unfortunate event of your demise, the entire payout goes to the loan provider, not to your dependents. And to me, that’s the biggest downside.

2. You can use your existing term insurance. If you already have a term plan, you can assign it to the lender (for a predefined tenure and amount) in case you don't wish to buy a separate plan.

Firstly, what is home loan insurance? It’s a policy that pays off your home loan in case of your unfortunate demise. Now while it does sound useful, here’s what many don’t realize—. 1. It’s NOT mandatory. Yes, lenders are more likely to approve your loan if you have home loan.

And this is what frustrates me. Banks and financial institutions push products without giving people the full picture. So, I thought I’d take a moment to explain what’s really going on.

A friend called me recently, sounding a bit stressed. He was in the final stages of buying his house when the bank told him they could only approve his loan if he took home loan insurance. So, naturally, he felt pressured to sign up. When I asked him if he understood how it.

The doctor nonchalantly goes, "Oh, that just means Active Married Life since three years.". I kid you not. Moral of the story? Always have someone in your corner to deal with stuff like this—because sometimes, it’s not even the big legal jargon that gets you. It’s just bad.
