In many ways, Ruston overachieved in 2025. That doesn’t make a 3rd state runner-up finish in 4 years any easier to swallow. But with a loaded 2027 class returning along with two 2028 superstars, Ruston should be the team to beat next season.

I remember sitting in Jerrod Baugh’s office in August, asking him about expectations. Could Ruston lose 4, 5, even 6 games? Rebuild? Nope, reload. The Bearcats won 11 games, the District 2-5A title, and made the Dome for the 4th straight year.
