The type of YouTube content we want.
Cool devs building cool shit.
One dev makes something, other comes with a different take.
That's fun.
Stop with the 1 Cr packages, tier 3 to xyz & FAANG videos for a little.
I myself got rejected because of diversity hiring in a hackathon.
Built an app, with working mvp live on playstore & beta testers.
Rejected because, I Quote "It can't be a boys club"
I was like sorry what ...
She repeated... next time have a female member in your team.
After Kota factory we are in dire need of "DSA factory" series.
We are just cranking up robots with 800 leetcode questions & 2 web dev projects & neither Influencers nor Big tech seems to care about the downsides.
In 5th class, I said, I wanted to be an engineer.
This is what I thought engineering would be about.. Building, Innovation.
It has reduced to roadmap culture now. 😕
Can't believe this introverted kid managed to get an internship and then travel to Bangalore alone. Took my first flight today. ✨
RIP my comfort zone.
#pushingboundaries
Today I completed 6 months working as Full time Software Engineer.
In the last 6 months,
> I have finished my last semester of college.
> Wrote 5 blogs - Technical & from my experience.
> Released my saas finally & made 15$ revenue, 3 paid customers, approx 400 people generated
Got approached by a founder because of a project I made 7 months back.
Keep working, building & most importantly showing what you have built.
People call it luck, but you need to increase surface area for luck to work.
Prompt: “A stylish woman walks down a Tokyo street filled with warm glowing neon and animated city signage. she wears a black leather jacket, a long red dress, and black boots, and carries a black purse. she wears sunglasses and red lipstick. she walks confidently and casually.
Step 1: create GitHub account.
Step 2: Create a repo
( Enough learning )
Step 3: Fork a popular repo & Spam it with "Update Readme. md"
Bhaiya/Didi: Now you are opensource contributor. 🤡
After 2 months of hiring process,
7 Interview/ Discussion meets,
God knows how many emails & Linkedin messages.
I have finally joined Nuitee as Software Engineer (Remote)
I'll be working on the new Cupid Product. LFG 🔥
Bhai offcampus placement is tough, cold emails likhte likhte zindagi bit rahi hain.
My college didn't even provided a student email id, those have higher chances of being opened.
🐧 We can just keep trying I guess.
DSA Grind is just stupid.
It promotes the same rat race culture like once JEE did.
Do this no. of questions in this much time & life set.
Judging based on marks on a test, because it's easy to filter people.
Coaching centres just got replaced by DSA wale bhaiya.
Man we are so lucky to be in tech, a huge part of India don't know what they wanna do in life & is preparing for competitive exams.
In tech we are surrounded by money: get a job in startups, remote, MNCs, freelance, bootstrap or take funding.
So many opportunities for us.
It wasn't like I wasn't looking for female member, I just didn't had a need at that time.
I coded the app, my friend designed it. That's enough for a mvp. I didn't needed any more members.
if my product is terrible, call it that, reject on that basis, but we got that advice.
Accelerate or Die.
Devin is gonna eat my job, not today, but 2 years from now I can't think why these autonomous capabilities won't compound above my skill level.
We would continue saying ai won't replace us, until it actually does.
The gap b/w rich & poor is gonna increase.
Today we're excited to introduce Devin, the first AI software engineer.
Devin is the new state-of-the-art on the SWE-Bench coding benchmark, has successfully passed practical engineering interviews from leading AI companies, and has even completed real jobs on Upwork.
Devin is
Just had my first day of internship
At first I thought they were joking when they gave me MacBook pro.
Excited to be part of an awesome team
Current status: I'm feeling tired & stupid.
I need sleep & I need to learn a lot & work super hard.
#internship
@tailwiinder
Man you gonna make me cry or what. 🥹
The GSOC one is so true, someone crack GSOC, then you see LFX mentorship, MLH fellowship, GitHub campus expert, college kids doing devrel jobs & going to Europe to give talks.
I literally applied 4-5 times to MLH fellowship & never got even
I have worked in the industry & I understand it's needed, the number of female team members is really low, but the solution we have is kinda flawed.
That leads to frustration, which needs to be addressed.
Reduced code execution time from approx 12 hours to 6 min 40 sec. 😂
Batching, async api calls, asking backend dev to modified server to avoid redundancy, using Hashmaps for lookup.
Hashmap alone.
0.05 seconds to 0.00025 seconds
200 times faster, I feel like God NGL. 🚀
I don't know man, I sometimes feel really incompetent in this AI world.
I have been working for years on my skills & they feel like a joke to me now.
OpenAI makes me feel like I'm fighting with wooden sword in world of nuclear weapons. 🥲
Good thing I never tried to become MERN stack dev.
I use Nextjs for frontend, Python w FastAPI for backend.
Kotlin for Android dev.
Go/python for other stuff too.
Firebase - NoSQL db
PostgreSQL - for SQL db
Baas: Firebase, Supabase
Auth: Clerk
Serverless: Replicate
Cloud: AWS
April 2, 2019 I gave the last paper of 12th boards, it was CS.
It's been 5 years now. 🥹
This kid had no idea the downfall he's gonna go through, how he'll be forced to grow & eventually crawl out of all that.
Grinding DSA above basic level is done just for OAs.
If anyone wants to get great at building, they should focus their energy on actually building.
You learn to solve software engineering problems, by building more & facing more such problems.
People who believe- dev is important and DSA is just for OAs/interviews. This holds no water, unless you are working for a very small startup which doesn't care about code complexities! As an engineer you should be a problem solver and not someone who just remembers some fancy
The dreaded question. Internship over, Flipkart Grid over. Currently No PPO, No hope of Placement from college.
I'm on my own & I love the uncertainty. ⚡
Survival skills for 2024:
Learn to code
Learn to design
Learn to build products
Build distribution
Learn to market
Learn to sell
Use AI as much as you can
Build leverage, build unfair advantages.
We are not that smart.
Today we're excited to introduce Devin, the first AI software engineer.
Devin is the new state-of-the-art on the SWE-Bench coding benchmark, has successfully passed practical engineering interviews from leading AI companies, and has even completed real jobs on Upwork.
Devin is
You are what you consume.
In the world of AI, Don't have a job seeker mindset.
Just focus on values like a founder would. You are a product, try to sell yourself.
Some content that changed my life forever ->
1. My first million podcast:
Plz watch this one 🤌
Contd..
@ayushdotpro
After building multiple mobile apps from scratch, shipping to playstore, doing internship. My first opensource pr was adding 1 line of code in WordPress android app.
That's how it starts man, what's the point of judging.
I won, 4 hours of study & AI notes is all you need to pass college exams. 😎
I didn't even made notes myself, I built an AI app that generated markdown notes of whole syllabus & PYQ for me.
7.76 CGPA it is.
Student agar real startup me internship kare toh usko darata hun "yeh nhi chalega", phir woh marks ke liye apni 3 month internship ki jagah, 1 month ki fake industrial training ka certificate banayega taki woh system ko impress kar sake.
Engineering ke core subjects ko detail me pdhne ki jgh 20 mins ka video 2x pe dekh leta hu.
Fir semester ke baad college ko system kharab hone ke liye blame b to krna h😂
I chose engineering to be a builder not a DSA solver.
My goal has always been to have the skills to build what I want.
It required basic DSA so I learnt it.
I didn't do DSA for jobs.
I knew the world works on value, if I can build what other people need, I'll solve money.
Grinding DSA above basic level is done just for OAs.
If anyone wants to get great at building, they should focus their energy on actually building.
You learn to solve software engineering problems, by building more & facing more such problems.
I am being paid to learn terraform, ECS & build scalable infra, something I would have done myself for free to learn. Days like this make me love my job. When interest aligns with work.
How to build your First GenAI app with Stable diffusion?? 🤩
The blog is finally here🔥
Tech Stack:
1. Python - Diffusers
2. Stable diffusion - v1.5
3. Controlnet - Canny
No API wrapper, we will be building from scratch using diffusers.
Github/ Colab notebook incl.

Bro just go to Bangalore, attend meetups, meet cool people. Share them what you know & how can you help. You could get opportunities like that.
If direct job is too difficult, get an internship first. Probably getting an internship in Bangalore would be a great choice.
Junior devs want to climb corporate ladder.
Meanwhile senior devs taking 7 interviews, 20-30 resume reviews, reviewing multiple PRs, finishing their sprint tasks, taking one on one's with the team, planning & breaking down bigger projects & assigning it to people acc. to the
If you won't respect your time, no one else will.
Build portfolio, get a paid internship. Even if it's 5K per month.
Unpaid internships should be unacceptable.
& If you can't even pay 5K - 10K rs as stipend, just don't hire interns.
Unpaid internships are not always a scam.
If you're a fresher with no solid skills and experience, then there is no harm in doing an unpaid internship.
You polish your skills and gain experience.
And you need that to prove that somebody else can hire you.
It's a win-win.
If we want India to grow, a college kid from a tier 3 city, should be able to make a landing page & recieve international payments in 1 hr.
I can't even test my hypothesis right now, product market fit is far far away.
I mean if 20lpa is mediocre so is 50lpa.
Ability to do whatever you want, go wherever you want is luxury in my opinion.
If you own your time, that's wealth.
In the past 4 days in Bangalore, I've come to understand that earning below 20lpa leads to a life of mediocrity. Frankly, it's nonsensical to remain here merely observing others indulge in luxury without being able to partake or consider leaving altogether
How to learn Generative AI in 2024 ->
1. Have a MERN stack or Python background
2. Build projects around LLMs, StableDiffusion or Audio Generation Models.
3. Pitch yourself to every GenAI founder you can find on the internet.
4. Get an Internship, learn on the job.
@fykawise
You tell it to one person in college & next thing you know, whole college knows about it & you have been reduced to a number.
Doesn't matter how big or smalll that number is, you are a number now.
Just a reminder for people trying to get jobs & internships.
if there is no role in careers page, doesn't mean your chance of getting an interview there is 0.
Just cold email the people working at that startup.
All startups are ran by people. You can always reach out to them.
7 days a week, 12 hrs a day from 8 am to 8 pm, to prepare for JEE.
I left game dev, left playing games.
It was bearable because I had friends in coaching.
In lockdown the whole work ethic came down & JEE became depressing.
Scored less.
Hardwork can only push you so far.
🚨 "He has worked 80 to 90 hours a week, so, he doesn't know what less than that is. He believes in real hard work and he lived like that" - Sudha Murthy, wife of Narayana Murthy.
Realising I was the wealthiest man in college because I could call my friends at evening & in 5 mins all of us could go for tea, have fun, discuss our ideas & bitch about our struggles.
Money can't buy me that time back.
It's 5 pm & I'm missing the tea time.
@Immortal_abdul
Don't follow this advice, I did android for 3 years, web is fundamental part of software, if not today you'll be forced to learn later.
Just so you know, not all remote jobs pay 100K$, especially the ones in India are not paying you that amount.
Can you earn more base salary than Microsoft India: yes
Can I get a 100K$ job as my first job without any industry experience: probably not.
Final exam time table arrived. College is getting over in around 1.5 months.
It's kinda sad... I have to find a new place for myself now.
I know we would rarely meet, doesn't matter what we say to each other.
I hope everyone gets placed or have something to look forward to.
This side hustle, projects are too tiring in long term.
Just do your job, watch Netflix, sleep, go out on weekends, meet people, repeat till you are 60. Hopefully you saved enough money to retire.
A simple fact, if you think some section of society is special, then you'll never reach their level.
" 3 digit IIT rankers are special"
"Some engineers are built different, they are 10x, I can't compete with them"
You'll never match them not because of the skill gap, but
You don't need motivation, you need clarity.
You don't need motivation, you need clarity.
You don't need motivation, you need clarity.
You don't need motivation, you need clarity.
You don't need motivation, you need clarity.
You don't need motivation, you need clarity.
@SanoopA12
They are clear on that from day 1, there's transperancy about that. They are trying to increase female representation. Totally understandable when you see the numbers in industry.
Problem is when orgs don't mention that but expect that.
Success requires a massive ego. When you are poor, unknown & no one cares about what you think.
You need the ego to survive.
You need the guts to hear "You can't do it" from the person you admired & still do it.
People eat their own words later on.
No one knows anything.
