To wrap up the talks for day 2, @RaffanSarah from @salkinstitute gives a nice talk on assessing Suberin accumulation in wheat root systems from the single cell to the organ scale. @MonogramUK #monogram24.

Ian Tsang also a 2nd year PhD from @niabscience gave a nice talk on Hairy roots-promoting increased wheat nutrition. He showed a novel root hair mutant in wheat and that root hair length and architecture are key for plant yield development .@MonogramUK #monogram24.

Emily Carr, 2nd yr PHD from @BristolUni gave a nice seminar on the roles of root exudates in root-soil interactions in wheat and arabidopsis. @MonogramUK.

Really clear and nice talk by Sarah Bailey from @JohnInnesCentre on exploring the effects of disrupting disease susceptibility factors. Shows by targeting certain yellow rust susceptibility-linked genes, less .negative effect on overall wheat fitness is observed @MonogramUK.

Really nice talk from @AnisaBlower on exploration of NIAB’s synthetic wheat as a new source of of genetic resistance for control to Septoria disease .@MonogramUK @niabscience.

Super nice to listen to my supervisor @PaulNicholson give the keynote afternoon talk about the Wheatblast: new disease with possibly old solutions at @MonogramUK . He shows evidence of overlap in wheat blast and powdery mildew resistance.@JohnInnesCentre
