I am so thankful to many people across the world who sent messages with clues and ideas that led us to #FindTracy! It's been an honor to also read about each of your journeys for those that wrote to me, and I am so overwhelmed and inspired by those that want to #BeAWelcomer too!
Former refugee Ayda Zugay's decade-long quest to find and thank the woman who gave her $100 and a welcoming message in 1999 has ended. Zugay reunited on Zoom with the mystery woman, Tracy Peck, a day after CNN published a story about her search.

Such a huge turn-out at the rountable discussion on "Charting New Paths: How Refugee-Led Entities are Advancing Global Solutions" organized by #USRAB & @RefugeesSeat at the #RSpace #GRF2023
@aydazugay & @RezGardi give keynotes about the achievements but also remaining needs.

Tomorrow, we kick off the Global #RefugeeForum. We value the expertise of refugees as we come together to find concrete ways to support people forced to flee. Hear from Ayda Zugay with the US Refugee Advisory Board on her hopes for refugees everywhere. https://t.co/fMbwSDS2Pl

Basma, Dauda, Ayda, and Emma from @RefugeeCongress are just a few of the many faces of refugees living in the U.S. Despite their harrowing journeys here, they work each day to better our communities and exemplify why it is crucial that we rebuild our Refugee Program.

When @aydazugay & her sister flew to America as refugees, a woman named Tracy welcomed them with an unexpected gift. Earlier this year, we asked you to help #FindTracy & with @CNN’s help, they met in person for the first time since that plane ride in 1999. https://t.co/vwnWH6X4Xj

I spoke with @aydazugay in 2018 about her quest to find a stranger who gave her $100. Ayda wanted to thank the woman, & "to tell them in full English how much of an impact they had on my sister and I." So glad they finally found each other after 23 years. https://t.co/R3mriHpnq6

The brief encounter on a flight to the Twin Cities changed the lives of two sisters, former Yugoslavian refugees.

I and countless other people re-tweeted this appeal by two former refugee girls on April 26, six days ago. https://t.co/aWEjBIQv5V And through the wonders of the modern internet, these people have been re-united! https://t.co/DpsUcj0OdI

Can you help us #FindTracy? She welcomed @aydazugay into the US with an unexpected message in 1999. We'd love to help her decade-long search so she can reunite and thank Tracy in person. Email info@refugeeadvocacylab.org if you can help us connect with Tracy! #BeAWelcomer

At @RefugeeCongress we know war can destroy people and today in Ukraine, DRC, Myanmar, Syria, Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, and many places in the world lives, dreams and childhoods are being destroyed. I hope the heightened awareness of violence doesn't start only when it is too late.

1/3 We're gravely concerned about the fast-deteriorating situation and ongoing military actions in Ukraine. We have seen reports of casualties, and people starting to flee to seek safety. Civilian lives and civilian infrastructure must be protected and safeguarded at all times.

Haitians families are seeking asylum and we are shutting the door. Instead of respecting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as we have before, @POTUS is using Trump's #Title42 to send people back to danger. #StopDeportationFlights of Asylum seekers.
.@HaitianBridge is on the ground helping Haitian asylum seekers in Del Rio seeking asylum. Donate now to support their efforts to #WelcomeWithDignity:
