To this day, hand drawn animation has 100x more soul than CGI. It's a direct consequence of how every single frame must be composed from scratch, no automation, no shortcuts. The West can go back to this just like Kyoani and Studio Ghibli. We've just lost the will.

With the exception of Dread, the talking bits in these titles were either extremely extremelyyyy rare (4 sentences in a 20 hour game) or generally disliked by the community. No sane person played Fusion and went "man I wish there was more dialogue, linearity and handholding".
