Almost by definition there's no such thing as dross at a World Cup. You could expand it to 128 teams and provided almost every game is still 'must not lose' it'll be compelling
There’s going to be some utter dross games at this World Cup isn’t there. No one in their right mind gets excited for Cape Verde v Uzbekistan or Jordan v Paraguay.
