My recent post on the @Self_Reg blog has me thinking a lot about stress, co-regulation, and applications to the classroom. Do you have any stories to share? #onted.

Grateful to have met yesterday with @MarshallJ2032, @10heatherly, and Jackie to discuss reading and writing instruction and SRSD. Thanks to what Jackie shared, I think I have a much better understanding now of SRSD and the positive impact this could have on kids. 1/?.

Had another wonderful Book Club meeting today. I absolutely love how much people want to share ideas, reflect on their own practices, and consider new ideas for next year. Such incredible and rich conversations! Thanks for your leadership here, @JanineOlsen14!

Oooo β¦ Iβd love to hear what you think of this!.
@avivaloca @JanineOlsen14 Something someone said at book club last week led me to pick up this book this week. As a Canadian and an educator we βmust look to and learn from the pastβ to move forward. @10heatherly

I absolutely agree!.
An article from 1998 that still rings true today. βPoor first grade readers almost invariably continue to be a poor reader.β We need to identify high risk Ss in Kindergarten so that preventative work can begin as soon as possible. @avivaloca @10heatherly

Oooo β¦ I would love to hear some of these ideas.
Participants just brainstormed and shared a million ways to honour and encourage the use of home languages in the classroom. The collective expertise and experience of this group is inspiring. #ETFOSA.

Glad you could join us!.
@avivaloca @JanineOlsen14 I appreciate being included and welcomed to learn and grow with this group of educators. The insights and perspectives that people share help us reflect on our own practice and move us all forward.

You know youβve been in education a long time when you find an assignment from the Faculty of Education and itβs on a disk. ππ€£ Currently, the students I work with do not even recognize my USB stick. ππ€£ #AvivaIsGettingOld
