I love how we looked at this writing instruction happening in the content areas. I really need to delve into Jackieβs PowerPoint more. SRSD is definitely something I want to explore when back in the classroom this year. This professional dialogue always brings me joy! 2/2.

I absolutely agree!.
An article from 1998 that still rings true today. βPoor first grade readers almost invariably continue to be a poor reader.β We need to identify high risk Ss in Kindergarten so that preventative work can begin as soon as possible. @avivaloca @10heatherly

Participants just brainstormed and shared a million ways to honour and encourage the use of home languages in the classroom. The collective expertise and experience of this group is inspiring. #ETFOSA.

Today is the day of finding really old technology. Iβm trying to determine if any of these items have a use. I was really hoping that the Livescribe pen would charge. Oh how I loved these. I even have the notebooks. I remember using them the last time I taught 1/2.

How do you know your move for next year was the right one?! When one of your new teaching partners has already called to discuss room design, portable sound walls, and window/wall writing spaces. I teach with the most amazing people! β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ.

A blank slate for September! Excited to also have the space available over by the window with the teacher desk gone. Plus, Iβ€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈour caretaking staff & their willingness to embrace my very βAviva-ishβ map.π(Iβll figure out the desks & chairs in August.) Happy summer, everyone!
