4/4 #WSTC7 #DistSesh4 Despite large diet overlap, Arctic and Common terns displayed strong spatial segregation, with former foraging more pelagically than Common terns. Both species forage farther from colony than previously known – up to 45 km on a single trip!

¾ #WSTC7 #DistSesh4 Plasma isotope analysis revealed large dietary overlap b/w Arctic and Common terns, with greater overlap between species within years than between years for each species. Both species consumed more marine inverts early in season and more fish later in season.

2/4 #WSTC7 #DistSesh4 Recaptured 53 @pathtrackltd tags deployed on Arctic and Common terns during incubation in 2018 & 2019. Tagged terns did not experience significantly different mass loss or reproductive output than banded, un-tagged terns.
