Auth.js is the second most popular auth option in the State of React survey. Usage is only one thing though. We want people to use our libraries with joy. Most of comments are around bad docs or "hard to integrate" (technically also docs). We agree and are working on it.

After much confusion and many requests to make our Next.js integration of Auth.js (NextAuth.js) edge-compatible (it always has been), our Edge Compatibility article will finally become obsolete. No more split config!. Great work by the Next.js team! 🎉.
One of the top community requests for Next.js will soon be solved. Full Node.js support for middleware 🙏

There are many reasons a maintainer didn't reply right away - timezone difference, maintainer offline, missed the mention on GitHub/elsewhere, etc. Disclosing responsibly avoids spreading fear or exposing actual issues too soon, so the maintainers can follow up professionally.

Found a potential vulnerability in your favorite open-source project?. Tip: When in doubt, always look for a security document on how to disclose it responsibly or search for a maintainer's email address, instead of posting it publicly. Ours is at

You might have seen `npx auth secret` in our docs already, but this tool can do more than generating a random secret, and we have more plans in the future. (We would like your help). Some of the features are:.

BTW, you _have_ seen our (now not that) new docs, right? It gives you a full 0 to 100 guide for setup, and provides guides for common scenarios and teaches auth concepts (not necessarily Auth.js specific, we want to start teaching good practices).
📚 Our brand new documentation is alive on It has been rebuilt from scratch, with all new content, including framework switchers, and focus on Auth.js libraries.

Our Discord server crossed 1k members! 📈. However, it could use some people who are comfortable answering Auth.js-related questions, gather pain points for us to improve docs, guides, etc. If you are such a person, reach out to @balazsorban44, @ndom91 or @thanghvu. 🙏.
I'm happy we created but most people are just asking for help. I wished that it (1000+ members now) would become a bit more self-sufficient, so I can focus on developing instead of triaging. If you are sufficient with Auth.js, we are looking for help! 💚.
