I recall being on a bus in Brixton when everyone’s phones went off at once and we were all told to get out pronto. Sad business, including the whole Brazilian shooting incident.

When I was with them almost 20 years ago that system consisted of seeing if you could read barcodes off mobile phone screens of that era. Turned out you could, so then they leveraged their crypto knowledge to come up with a mechanism that worked as tickets.

This is good news on several levels. The Masabi system is very good and Montreal has a pressing need to improve at this.

There's a curious phenomenon with Web APIs where the moment they become stable the interest in them goes off a cliff. WebGL and WebRTC being the classics, which are now both highly usable, and not many people seem to care.

I have a serious love/hate thing going with traefik. It's absolutely brilliant and inspired, but eventually a lot of the middleware just gets in the way, in the wrong way.

The temptation to procrastinate by porting large parts of the recent embedded code to Rust on RISC V may prove too much. The problem is what I want to do would need the std just for the discriminant access. Needs some thinking.
